Introduction of academicians

Ms. Sun Lili (Sept. 1961 - ), is an expert of oil refining and petrochemical engineering technology and management, National Engineering Survey and Design Master，academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. She was born in Yantai, Shandong Province and graduated from East China Petroleum Institute in 1983, majoring in Oil Refining Engineering. She is currently a member of the Science and Technology Committee of China Petrochemical Corporation, Executive Director, Secretary of the Party Committee, and Technology Committee Director of Sinopec Engineering Incorporation.

Ms. Sun Lili has been committed to the research and practice of oil refining and petrochemical technologies, engineering design and management. In China and abroad, she played a leading role in the engineering and construction of over ten modern refineries and petrochemical plants, as well as more than one hundred process equipment. The development of High Efficiency and Environmentally Friendly Aromatics Suite Technology filled the gap between China and the international world in the innovation of our own aromatics technology. A portfolio of engineering technologies for clean and efficient conversion of crude oil has been developed to achieve major breakthroughs in the integrated innovation of refining technology. The innovation of sour natural gas treating technologies solved the worldwide problems of safely and efficiently treating natural gas with high sulfur content in large scale. She led the design and construction of China's first aromatics complex with our own independent technology, the first single train 10-million-ton per annum refinery and the world's second largest highly sour natural gas treating plant, which are iconic projects in oil and petrochemical fields.

Ms. Sun Lili has been awarded two Special Grand Prizes and two Second Prizes of National Science and Technology Progress Award, one Special Grand Prize and nine First Prizes of Provincial and Ministerial-level Science and Technology Progress Award, the Science and Technology Innovation Award from Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation, Hou Debang Chemical Science and Technology Achievement Award, and Special Government Allowance of the State Council. She was awarded the FIDIC Award and other international awards. She holds 36 patents, published 4 monographs and more than 50 academic papers.
