Sinopec Fifth Construction Co., Ltd.
Founded in 1953, Sinopec Fifth Construction Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred as SEG Fifth Construction for short) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sinopec Engineering (Group) Co., Ltd. It used to be Dalian Engineering Co., Ltd. and move to Lanzhou, Gansu Province to participate in primary construction of Lanzhou Chemical industrial Co., Ltd. in 1956. On 18 December 2010, it moved to set up in Guangzhou formally. SEG Fifth Construction is China earliest large engineering construction corporation engaging in petrochemical construction and large and comprehensive engineering construction corporation directly subordinated to Sinopec. It has been rewarded with level 1 qualification of petrochemical engineering construction EPC, qualification of contracting foreign engineering, foreign economic cooperation qualification and Level-B qualification of architecture industry (architecture engineering), professional level B design qualifications of petrochemical and pharmaceutical industry (chemical engineering, petrochemical and chemicals transportation), etc., and currently, it is applying for “superfine qualification certificate of petrochemical EPC”. There are about 3,000 employees in SEG Fifth Construction, in which, there are 900 employees being rewarded with various technical professional titles, a hundred of employees being issued with national level I and level II constructor certificates, and about a thousand employees engaging in various managements and professional technologies.
SEG Fifth Construction is able for construction yield with RMB5 billion/year. It is able to undertake large/medium/small devices and supporting engineering constructions involving oil refining, chemical engineering, fertilizer, chemical fiber, rubber, electricity, pharmaceutical, metallurgy, military industry, etc. It has special technical advantages in “four-large and one-special”: large equipment hoisting, installation of large conveying equipment (unit), installation of large tank, large DCS installation and commissioning, and welding of special materials, not to mention large boiler, large air separation, oil refining, polyolefins, methanol, coal chemical engineering, soil repair, etc. SEG Fifth Construction has cultivated a batch of senior engineering technician and superior technicians in different engineering. Among many major project constructions in China, it thoroughly shows its strength and advantages in many sides: engineering management, appliance and equipment, specialized talents, development and application of new technology, etc.
Over 60-year development, SEG Fifth Construction’s footprints are all over home and abroad: northeast China, northwest China, and south China- the frontier of reform and opening up. Where it goes, factories are built, towers are established, many achievements are realized, and milestone is created -- a batch of major engineering construction projects are constructed with high standards. About 500 sets of large-medium devices have been built one by one, which contributes a lot to petrochemical development in China. It creates “Lanzhou Petrochemical” -- the “first born” of petrochemical industry in China and creates many No. 1 of petrochemical industry in China. It went out firstly to “the oversea market”, laying solid foundation for oversea business development of Sinopec Engineering (Group) Co., Ltd. and its annual thousands tons of oil refining project in Rabigh has been rewarded with Silver Prize of National Excellent Engineering. SEG Fifth Construction has been rewarded with more than 300 national, provincial and ministerial honors: “observe contract and trusty corporation”, “the national May Day prize”, “national excellent construction corporation”, “satisfying installation corporation for users in China”, “Luban prize for China architecture engineering”, etc.
