SEG always regards the product quality as the life of the enterprise and strives to ensure the high quality and sufficient quantity of its products through strict management. At the same time, SEG has never been satisfied with its past success in quality management and under the guidance of "Being a leader in quality management", the Company perseveres in strengthening scientific research and improving the system and services, in order to become a leader in quality and grow with the customers.
We operate an independent quality control division in each of our operating subsidiaries. These quality control divisions are responsible for monitoring the quality of our engineering and construction services and equipment manufacturing activities both in the PRC and overseas. We have compiled quality management manuals, established quality control procedures and adopted quality control standards. We have also implemented a quality supervision and management organizational structure. For example, in our engineering business, EPC Contracting business and construction business, we conduct a series of stringent quality control tests, measured against national or industrial standards and codes, throughout the various project phases, particularly prior to the delivery phase.
Additionally, we have established quality control reporting mechanisms such as daily inspections, self-inspections, cross inspections among projects, inter-departmental joint inspections and remote monitoring to identify quality issues as early as possible. Slight quality issues identified are dealt with immediately, while major issues are submitted to management to be discussed and resolved. We also conduct supervision and review activities to improve the quality of our products and services. With respect to our engineering business, we revisit our clients to assess engineering quality, conduct preliminary reviews and perform internal audits after project completion. With respect to our EPC Contracting business and construction business, we carry out process monitoring and customer satisfaction surveys during the project implementation phase and make annual visits to completed projects, conducting internal and external reviews. In addition, clients typically hire a third-party supervisor to certify the quality of our work at different stages. We have also established a project quality assurance system, which we believe efficiently and effectively implements each quality control activity in a systematic and practical manner.
We have implemented quality controls on labor, mechanical equipment and construction process and methods in our construction projects, including conducting sampling tests and quality inspection on all materials, parts and components, working procedures, semi-finished and finished products. With respect to our equipment manufacturing business, all materials, semi-finished and finished products are subject to sampling and quality inspection at each stage of the manufacturing process. We have also implemented certain quality control standards established by the International Organization for Standardization. We have received various ISO 9001 and ISO 9002 series accreditations for our quality control systems across different segments of our business.
On the basis of improving quality assurance system, ensuring good quality and sufficient quantity, SEG keeps up with the development of the economy, society and relevant sectors, fully utilizes its comprehensive strength, strengthens the external cooperation, continuously develops better engineering services and grows together with the customers
The importance of safety can never be emphasized too much. It is both our duty and objective to ensure safe and stable operation. We will keep safety as top priority and continue to improve safety management. We attach great importance to HSE and implement the HSE management system throughout the company. We keep improving the HSE management system that covers the whole production process and everyone from top management to grassroots operators. The person at the post, who is required to sign a letter of commitment, answers for safe operation of the post. We organize annual HSE examination and ad-hoc inspection to review HSE performance of key subsidiaries.
For high risk industries like energy industry, any neglect of work, irregular operation, potential hazard might cause accidents, leading to lose of properties or even people's lives. We have made enormous efforts to enhance safety awareness among staff, site safety management and potential hazard control, in order to develop into an intrinsically safe company. Focusing on forging a safety-oriented corporate culture, we make major efforts to motivate staff involvement in ensuring safe production. By participating in "I Safe" activities, that takes place every year, staff's safety awareness has been enhanced, their sense of responsibility sharpened, and unsafe behavior enormously reduced.

As a responsible energy and petrochemical engineering company, we pay great attention to environmental protection. With a clean management system covering the whole process from production to consumption, we keep striving to achieve green growth and contribute to clear waters, green land and a blue sky.
We set up process, equipment and environmental protection expert groups, who made EIA and follow-up assessment of the subsidiaries, helped them identify main problems and put forward solutions. We intensified key technology R&D. to integrate R&D capacities of the company, we attach great importance to the treatment of waste gas, waste water and industrial residue (three wastes), try our best to meet emission and discharge standards, and mitigate their impact upon the environment to the minimum.

We control the occupational health hazards from the source through monitoring occupational health hazards at working places, monitoring employees' occupational health, providing labor protection articles, offering occupational health education and training, etc. We constantly improve the training management system with SEG's distinguishing feature, make training a indivisible part of employees' whole career, combine the corporate development with employees' growth demand, enrich training content, innovate training mode, devoting unremitted efforts to the growth and development of employees.
Development of an enterprise is inseparable from great support of the whole society, and development of the society is in need of regurgitation-feeding of the enterprise. Besides a small number of management staff and technicians who are sent from home, we mainly employ local talents and pay attention to local staff training, and use subcontractors or labor sub-contraction in great quantity in non-core business links of engineering, and also adopts construction sub-contraction and labor sub-contraction in non-“four big and one special” projects and non-principal projects. Up to now there are around 800 qualified sub-contractors registered with the corporation. This year sub-contraction value has exceeded RMB10 billion, with employment in social engineering, construction technique and construction work directly or indirectly pulled.

In Kazakhstan, we have conducted coach, discussion, exchange and fellowship together with local staff, organized the public welfare activity of caring for lonely and disabled elders and gained full recognition of project proprietors, local governments and communities.
