On August 4, SEG executive Jiang Dejun and his delegation visited the Riyadh headquarters of SABIC (Saudi Basic Industries Corporation) and met with Mr. Ahmed Al-Shaikh, Executive Vice President of Project Management. The two sides held in-depth discussions on the cooperation across broader fields, including technology, capital operations, and talent development.
Jiang Dejun stated that SEG’s overseas business has been growing increasingly, with international projects accounting for a rising share of newly signed contracts and revenue. He emphasized that the Saudi market is a key pillar of SEG’s global businesses and that SABIC remains a critical client for SEG.
Ahmed Al-Shaikh highlighted the strong bilateral ties between China and Saudi Arabia, noting that multiple collaborative projects between SABIC and Sinopec have earned widespread acclaim. He underscored the importance of Chinese market and expressed hope to elevate the relationship from a traditional client-contractor dynamic to a deeper strategic partnership. This shift, he affirmed, would generate long-term value and leave a lasting legacy for Sino-Saudi relations.
The visit was attended by the representatives from SEG’s International Business Department, Operations Management Department, Middle East Regional Market Development Center, and Saudi Company, alongside staff from the Board Office and Saudi Company.
