On September 19, SEG and Spain’s Tecnicas Reunidas (TR) signed a Strategic Alliance Cooperation Agreement in Beijing. Jiang Dejun, Chairman of SEG, and Juan Lladó, Chairman of TR, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective companies and delivered speeches. Zhang Xinming, CEO of SEG, and Eduardo San Miguel, CEO of TR, also addressed the ceremony. TR’s Deputy CEO & CCO Arturo Crossley, COO Jesús Rodríguez, and SEG leaders Wang Guohua and Sun Baoping, and SFCC leader Yi Hao attended the ceremony. The two parties will engage in pragmatic cooperation across global refining, petrochemicals, natural gas, energy transition, and other full-chain, multi-domain sectors.
Jiang Dejun expressed a warm welcome to TR Chairman Juan Lladó and his delegation. He emphasized that TR is SEG’s the most vital partner, with a longstanding collaboration dating back to their first successful joint project in Saudi Arabia’s refining sector in 2006. Over the past 17 years, the two companies have jointly executed over 20 engineering projects with a total contract value of USD 7 billion, achieving remarkable results. Through this partnership, SEG has steadily expanded its global operations and forged a profound friendship with TR.
Jiang stressed that the signing of this strategic agreement marks a significant new chapter in collaboration. The alliance will strongly support SEG’s overseas growth, foster mutual benefits and win-win outcomes. He called for enhanced communication in engineering contracting, technology transfer, technological innovation, and integrated development to achieve comprehensive cooperation spanning the entire industrial chain and full lifecycle.
Juan Lladó highlighted the deep-rooted partnership and historic success in overseas project execution. Looking ahead, he proposed to strengthen collaboration in refining, chemicals, and natural gas while actively exploring opportunities in green, low-carbon initiatives and energy transition to seize global development trends.
Zhang Xinming stated that the agreement represents a pivotal milestone. He urged both sides to prioritize project implementation, focus on global engineering&construction market strategies, and deepen cooperation in forward-looking business areas. Eduardo San Miguel stressed that building on their solid foundation, the two companies should ambitiously drive synergies and expand collaboration across global markets.
The establishment of a close, long-term alliance with TR, a world-renowned engineering firm, will significantly enhance SEG’s global competitiveness, improve risk management, and deliver greater achievements in international markets, paving the way for new successes in this new era.
Representatives from SEG’s Integrated Management Department, Enterprise Reform and Legal Department, Technology Department, and International Business Department attended the signing ceremony.
