Jiang Dejun Meets with Constance Hunter, Global Chief Economist of The Economist

On November 20, Jiang Dejun, Chairman of SEG, met with Constance Hunter, Global Chief Economist of The Economist, and her delegation. The two parties exchanged views on Sino-U.S. relationship under the evolving geopolitical situation, strategies and issues on further enhancing cooperation.

 

Jiang Dejun highlighted SEG’s profound expertise in traditional energy and chemical industries, as well as its outstanding capabilities and achievements in green hydrogen development, new energy CCUS technologies, engineering design, and equipment manufacturing. He emphasized the company’s leading position in China’s energy and chemical sector and its notable accomplishments in international markets. Jiang expressed the hope to collaborate with The Econommist to jointly address geopolitical challenges, seize the historic opportunities of new energy transition, and achieve mutual benefits and synergistic development.

 

Constance Hunter highly appreciated SEG for its exceptional capabilities and outstanding performance in petrochemical engineering industry. She elaborated on how The Economist leverages its robust market economic analysis capabilities, deep professional expertise, and extensive cross-disciplinary knowledge to create value and foster development for clients. The discussions covered the topics on economic activities, trade relations, energy transition, and security risks between China and the United States. Hunter expressed the desire to engage in comprehensive cooperation with SEG to promote the sustainable development of Sino-U.S. relations and contribute to energy transition and economic development in both countries and globally.

The meeting was also attended by relevant representatives from SEG International Business Department and Operations Management Department.
