On September 12th–13th, the company’s flagship social responsibility initiative ‘SEG Continues to Host ‘Immersive Public Safety Experience and Emergency Public Awareness Activities’’ was successfully held in Tianjin and Qingdao. The event saw participation from over 400 students and community activities and garnered extensive media coverage from more than 20 news outlets, including Xinhua News Agency, Economic Daily, Science and Technology Daily, Mass Net, Tianjin Daily, and Qingdao TV. This widespread media attention effectively showcased the company’s commitment to social responsibility and significantly enhanced the influence of the Sinopec brand.
This initiative is part of a broader series of social responsibility programs that commenced with the official launch of the SEG Continues to Host ‘Immersive Public Safety Experience and Emergency Public Awareness Activities on July 4 at the South China Safety Simulation and Practical Training Base. Wu Xiaoyi, an expert from the Sinopec’s Health, Safety, and Environmental Protection (HSE) Management Department, and Sun Baoping, a senior company executive, attended the events and delivered speeches, joined by personnel from the company’s headquarters and affiliated units. The event, continuing in the format of SINOPEC Public Open Day, serves as a bridge to enhance public understanding of the petrochemical industry. By inviting government agencies, community members, media representatives, teachers, and students to engage firsthand with petrochemical engineering projects, the event aimed to promote safety and quality management awareness. Through the use of the company’s safety simulation and hands-on training base, participants experienced public safety modules, including emergency response, safety and disaster avoidance, and practical public safety training. These interactive sessions offered life safety education and immersive emergency simulation exercises tailored to industry needs. The initiative was widely appreciated by participants and received high praise.

The event in Tianjin was held at the North China Safety Practice Base, supported by Sinopec’s Fourth Construction Company in Binhai New Area. Liu Hui, a senior executive of the Fourth Construction Company, delivered a speech, while Xu Jinguo presided over the event. Key attendees included Sun Xiaochen and Guo Wenbin, as well as representatives from the Tianjin Federation of Trade Unions, Tianjin Binhai New Area Housing and Construction Commission, Binhai New Area Education and Sports Bureau, Binhai New Area Red Cross, and Binhai New Area Dagang Neighborhood. Participants engaged in disaster response knowledge sessions and took part in immersive safety training at specialized facilities, including the Safety Skills Practical Experience Hall, Life Safety and Health Experience Hall, Intelligent Chemical Plant Joint Training Center, and Welding Technology Training Center. These activities helped enhance public awareness of safety measures, emergency evacuation knowledge, and hands-on operational skills.

September 13th – Qingdao Event at Huangdao Production Base. The event was held at Huangdao Production Base, supported by Sinopec’s Tenth Construction Company in Qingdao. The event was attended by Huang Dehua, Deputy Director-General of the Qingdao Federation of Trade Unions, who highly praised the initiative. Wang Yi, a senior executive of the Sinopec Tenth Construction Company, delivered a speech, with Lei Ping presiding and Peng Weiquan in attendance. Representatives from the Huangdao District Emergency Management Bureau, Xuejiadao Street Office, Qingdao Institute of Vocational Technology, and Jiangshan Road No. 2 Primary School also participated. Students took part in hands-on CPR training and AED operation exercises, enhancing their awareness of safety and fire prevention while improving their ability to respond to emergencies. Public representatives toured key facilities, including the National Skill Master Innovation Studio, Welding Technology R&D Center, Model Craftsmen Innovation Workstation, and Qingdao Smart Manufacturing Base, gaining insights into the SEG's advancements in high-quality development.
Huangdao Production Base of Sinopec Tenth Construction Company is a new, modernized safety and skills training and practical operation base that integrates theoretical instruction, hands-on training, simulation exercises, and VR technology. The base provides a robust platform for welding technology innovation, skill development, and mentor-apprentice training. It also plays a critical role in enhancing on-site management capabilities for team leaders within the SEG.
