The Company Won the Bid for the EPC contract for the Reliability Improvement project of IBB ammonia plant

On August 2, SEG signed the EPC contract for the reliabilityimprovement project of IBB ammonia plant with Ibn Al-Baytar (or IBB) owned bySaudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC). The contract signing ceremony washeld at Jubeir, Saudi Arabia. The OOK Contract and IK Contract wererespectively signed by Wang Hongguang, the deputy general manager of SinopecNingbo Engineering Co., Ltd. under SEG and Shen Manfang, the general manager ofSaudi Arabia Company.

IBB is a producer of synthetic ammonia, urea and compoundfertilizer. The project is aimed to upgrade the plant by enhancing theproduction capacity from 1,575 metric ton/day to 1,650 metric ton/day (min.)using 6100MMSCFD natural gas as raw material for producing synthetic ammonia,while at the same time improving operation reliability and energy efficiencyand realizing sustainability.

It’s the first time Ningbo Engineering Company undertakes anEPC contract for an overseas plant. The company will have to face all kinds ofchallenges. However, the project will lay a solid foundation for NingboEngineering Company to further expand into the Middle East market and developoverseas businesses.
