To carry out at the grass-root level the guiding principle established in the safety meetings held by the group company and SEG and synchronize the safety activities of the upper and down levels, the corporate home office aligned its annual safety activities with companies including LPEC, Ningbo Engineering Co, No 4 Construction Co, No 5 Construction Co. and R& D centers etc. before the Spring Festival. It also conducted safety inspection for the test rig in project dept. of Nangang LNG project in Tianjin and R&D Center. While intensifying its supervision and inspection for highlighted fire prevention portion in the base communities where organizations located, the safety supervision and inspection brigades in various subsidiaries also conducted supervision and inspection for projects within their jurisdiction.

During the Spring Festival, there were 49 projects under normal construction, including 20 in foreign countries with number of the construction staff totaling at 15935. Project departments of various subsidiaries involved in the construction maintained their practice where leaders were in charge of the departmental activities and placed safety management in the priority place while organizing their production and staff living. No incidents or accidents occurred thus the employees in other regions and their relatives felt at ease during the Spring Festival. For project whose construction was yet to kick off, the project departments of various subsidiaries involved in the construction organized confirmation for safety conditions prior to work suspension. They also enclosed the site areas and inspected employee’s camp to eliminate all safety incident potential.

As production safety has remained stable since Jan, various subsidiaries will focus their efforts on safety training, shift to work and confirmation for safety conditions. The corporate home office will assign a general safety supervisor and general team for safety supervision and inspection to another five subsidiaries for interfacing. The Comments on Promoting Reform and Development in Production Safety Sector issued by the Central Committee and the State Council and Sinopec Manual of Safety Management will be disseminated and carried out to provide guarantee for production safety of the whole year.
