2016 SEG Safety Management Business Competition Completed Successfully



2016 SEG Safety Management Business Competition was held successfully from December 1~3 at No. 4 Construction Company in respond to the call for “practice new concept and make contribution to the 13th five-year plan”.

The competition was sponsored by SEG head office and held by No. 4 Construction Company. It included four parts, knowledge test, safety sharing, safety electronic simulation examination and operating test (including emergency rescue, gas inspection, CPR and the use of positive-pressure respirator). 70 contestants from different affiliates attended the competition, and they all have two (or more) years of work experience in safety management of related disciplines. By the strict and meticulous attitude and the courage to embrace challenges and difficulties, the contestants had well proven their competence with high performance either in theoretical test or operation test. It’s not only a competition but also a chance for learning from each other. They displayed the spirit of solidarity and team work while showing their own talents, personality and ambitions.

After rounds of intense matches, the top three group prizes respectively went to Ningbo Engineering Company, No. 4 Construction Company and No. 10 Construction Company, and the top three group prizes for contractors were respectively granted to Qingdao Dongji petrochemical, Tianjin Xingyuan and Honghai Dingxin. Individuals who won gold medals were Shang Jianbao from SEI, Kong Hongwei from Ningbo Engineering Company, and Xushiwen and Yu Shizhen from No. 4 Construction Company. Gold-medal winning individuals from the contractors included Guo Yanbo and Yan Xu from Qingdao Dongji petrochemical, and Dai Jun from Tianjin Xingyuan petrochemical.

At the wrap-up meeting, SEG deputy general manager Xiao Gang extended congratulations to groups and individuals with good performance, and expressed gratitude to all judges and work staff. He said, safety management relates to the life and health of all employees, the harmony and stability of the company and the social image of the company. There is no limit in safety management, we must always do better! We must always stick to the principle of “safety is the first thing, prevention goes first”, we need to take care of safety with initiatives, increased sense of responsibility and higher safety awareness, and we must strictly comply with the regulations and systems with regard to safety management. He also hoped the competition would contribute to the management improvement of the company.
