Group General Manager Dai Houliang Had an Investigation Trip at the Sinopec Project Site in Eastern Saudi Arabia

A delegation led by President of SINOPEC Group, Mr. Dai Houliang had an investigation trip at the Sinopec project site in eastern Saudi Arabia from November 23 to 25, where they visited the employees who worked at the frontline.

The delegation listened report by Sinopec affiliates at Saudi Arabia, including the representative office, Yanbu refinery, SINOPEC Oilfield Service Corporation and SEG, and asked about how their business is expanded at Saudi Arabia and the Middle East immediately after its arrival at Saudi Arabia on November 23. It spent the next day visiting Royal Commission for Jubail, Saudi Kayan and the POM site of SEG at eastern Saudi Arabia where they conducted an investigation and visited workers at site. On the 25th, the delegation visited the drilling crew of SINOPEC Oilfield Service Corporation where they expressed gratitude and sent greetings to the workers for their great performance and hard work.

After listening to work report, Mr. Dai highly praised the efforts of the affiliates in expanding business at Saudi Arabia. After more than ten years of development, Sinopec has established a considerable business scale at Saudi Arabia. It’s a great achievement that cannot be made without the huge efforts of its affiliates and it’s also a big contribution to the “going global” process of Sinopec. As for what is to be done in the coming stage, as Dai put it, the first thing is to have a good analysis of the general environment and market situation based on Saudi Arabia 2030 vision, IKTVA, China’s “one road, one belt” strategy and the 13th five-year plan of Sinopec group, as well as an analysis of own advantages and disadvantages, so as to get well prepared for market exploitation and future work. Secondly, the Sinopec affiliates shall try to make full use of the overall advantage of Sinopec as a group while displaying respective business advantages, working together toward the goals of creating mutual benefits for both themselves and the owners, establishing a recognized reputation for “going global” and developing middle and high level business. Thirdly, more efforts shall be put in team building. That is to say the ability of team members shall be improved constantly; an international team of talents with expertise in laws and tax shall be established; and a good career planning shall be provided to employees to increase their motivation and prevent operation risk. Fourthly, a research on overseas operation and management systems and mechanisms shall be conducted to establish appropriate systems and mechanism for themselves. Fifthly, more efforts shall be put in party building and ideological and political work. And be sure everything is based on reality, such as humanistic care for employees, solving actual problems of employees, ensuring the physical and mental health of employees and defending public security.
