China’s largest coal-gasification gasifier, which is independently designed and built by domestic companies, was put in place as scheduled in August by SINOPEC Heavy Lifting & Transportation Co., Ltd. It is the first gasifier in place for the coal gasification unit of PMT4 plant located at CNOOC Huizhou Chemical Zone. Reportedly, it’s also the largest E-Gas gasifier in the world supported by CB&I’s two-stage E-Gas gasification technology that is applied in China for the first time. The PMT4 coal gasification unit contains three gasifiers, with each consisting six equipment, including gasification furnace, gasifier transition section, stay tank, stay tank transition section, waste heat boiler and coke filter. The gasifier was lifted into place by a 4,000 t crawler crane, which served as the main crane, and a 400 t crane and 280 t crawler crane, which served as tail crane.

The successful lifting of the first gasifier sets a new record for lifting.
